The tornado tracked northeast paralleling the road before crossing Highway 188 near the Crockett/Gibson County line. The tornado continued northeast into Gibson County and affected the communities of Center and Dyer. The tornado appeared to have touched down and lifted back up several times along the track. The total length of the storm was approximately 15 miles with the tornado being 300 yards at its widest. One house northeast of Friendship was shifted off of its foundation. Other homes suffered shingle damage. Several mobile homes and utility sheds also received moderate to heavy damage. A Tornado Warning was issued at 1:09 PM.

The following is a direct quote from the National Weather Service, edited by me for capitalization and punctuation.

...Storm damage survey conducted in Henry County Tennessee...
...Estimated 120 mph winds produced extensive damage north of Paris...

The National Weather Service in Memphis, TN, conducted a storm survey of the damage in Henry County, Tennessee. The damage was the result of severe straight line winds that were produced by a severe thunderstorm during the early morning hours of November 6th.

The damage that resulted from the storm occurred just north of Paris, Tennessee. The corridor of damage covered approximately 9 miles...but was not continuous and was only 300 yards wide at its greatest width. The damage began near the intersection of Highway 641 and Vaughn Road. Along the damage path...three mobile homes...two businesses...and a residential home were completely destroyed. One other residence also received significant damage. The New Bethel Baptist Church on Old Paris Murray Road also received substantial damage. The estimated 120 mph winds structurally compromised three walls and blew out several windows. Several other buildings along the path of the downburst received minor damage. Numerous large trees were snapped and uprooted as well. The damage path ended near McGehee Lane.

Fortunately...no injuries or fatalities resulted from this severe thunderstorm. Damage estimates are still being assessed and will be provided as soon as this information becomes available. The final numbers will also be published in the November edition of storm data.

The National Weather Service would like to thank the entire staff of the Henry County EMA...especially Ron Watkins. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mark Holomon of the West Tennessee EMA. The contributions of these individuals greatly enhanced the ability of the Weather Service to conduct a thorough survey.

There are many reasons for this, including better forecasting of severe weather and winter weather, terrorism concerns (such as chemicals blowing around) and farming.
