12:13 AM-Rector, AR-75 mph wind gust at airport
12:26 AM-Kennett, MO-70 mph wind gust, .88" hail
12:29 AM-Kennett-1" hail
1:30 AM-Hughes, AR-.75" hail
1:57 AM-Walls, MS-.75" hail
2:15 AM-Paris, TN-Funnel cloud sighted north of the town
2:30 AM-near Paris-One house had major structural damage and two more homes with a little bit. Many trees and power lines down.

Yep, I was right...Severe T'storm Watch - WU

Told you so. Anyway, here is the newest Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 4:00 AM CST. They are all Arkansas counties: Mississippi, Poinsett, Craighead, Randolph, Lawerence, Clay, and Greene. The main dangers are up to 1.5" hail, wind gusts up to 80 mph, and lightning.

According to the Mesoscale Discussion from the SPC, a new watch (most likely severe t'storm) will need to be issued by 3:30 UTC Time, which is 9:30 CST. I have it posted as soon as I can when it becomes available.

Well, after looking at the latest forecast models, the strongest tunderstorms should hit the Memphis area around midnight tonight. Of course, I will be up watching the weather, and it will be a long night. But, I will be posting to this blog throughout the night, so check back often for more updates.

In the Hazardous Weather Outlook, the NWS in Memphis states that severe weather is possible tonight. The threatened area includes Memphis, Jackson, TN, Jonesboro, Blytheville, and Dyersburg. A cold front will move through the area tonight. Some thunderstorms will form out in front of the front. Some of these storms could be severe. Also, an isolated tornado can not be ruled out. We should expect these conditions from 9 PM tonight to 3 AM Sunday.

Red Flag Warning - WU

The NWS in Memphis has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of its Tennessee counties and all of its Arkansas counties. (This includes Shelby County.) Gusty winds and dry atmospheric conditions will combine to make a high fire danger. This is in effect until 9:00 PM tonight.
